I built a custom enclosure for my printer's control board and Raspberry Pi. It holds an Arduino Mega 2560 paired with a Ramps_1.4 controller and a Raspberry Pi that runs Octopi Server seamlessly. I highly recommend giving it a try - it's been a game-changer for me, so you definitely should too. The design features a DB 50 connector on the back, which allows me to quickly switch between control boxes like Ramps, Smoothie, and Duet for my three 3D printers. I printed the enclosure using PLA with precise settings: 0.5mm nozzle diameter and 0.35 layer height without any supports. However, I did need to file down the lid's hinges slightly to get a snug fit on the base. This is still an evolving project, but the first iteration has been successfully completed.
