<p>Hi Internet Sim Racers,</p> <p>After doing a final test print of my Thrustmaster Txxx 70mm hub adaptor kit... I feel it's ready for public thrashing.</p> <p>Ok, so whats in the pack I hear you ask... through some form of audio bug I have in your room... don't worry about it.. just let it happen... anyway I digress..</p> <p>Whats in the pack:</p> <p>1 x Thrustmaster Quick Release threaded Hub with a 70mm PCD pattern for common after market steering wheels.</p> <p>1 x Matching real Quick Release adaptor for that type showing in the photos. Very common on ebay. They feel alright and not too much play in them.</p> <p>Why did I make this pack? Well, it started off as an excuse to learn Fusion 360 (AMAZING CAD package btw)... Now that I made this, I have the base files I need to modify and build the matching button plates etc etc... it's kinda going to a whole eco system thing.</p> <p>Don't worry, I'll release them here too...</p> <p>What makes this one different? The integrated 6 Pin DIN connector in the middle is accurately modelled and is ready to push in a connector and expand the original port.</p> <p>Surely someone will find this useful and I thought I'd share in my joy that has been learning to 3D Model.</p> <p>Enjoy!</p> <p>And don't drink and virtually drive!</p> <h3> Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer Brand:</strong></p> <p>Wanhao</p> <p><p class="detail-setting printer"><strong>Printer: </strong> <div><p>Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2</p></div><strong>Rafts:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p><p class="detail-setting supports"><strong>Supports: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div><strong>Resolution:</strong></p> <p>0.2</p> <p><p class="detail-setting infill"><strong>Infill: </strong> <div><p>20-30%</p></div></p> <p><strong>Notes:</strong></p> <p>I print with 40mm per second... it takes nearly 8 hours. But the finish is stunning and the slower I went, the better layer adhesion and strength it had. Make Walls, Top and Bottom all 2mm thick. Your aiming to make the threaded section to be solid infill whilst the main plate body can be infill as normal. So check this in your layer view before exporting the gcode.</p> <p>You really wanna build this strong as it's going to cop a pounding.</p> <p>I made it with PLA. It's solid and more than enough to do the job.</p> <p>Now, quick thing on flow. I printed with 110% on my Wanhao. This will vary for everyones printer. The tolerence in the centre is tight. It's supposed to be. You don't want wiggle in your wheel. Now if its too tight, you've probably gone heavy on your flow. Thats okay, just heat it up with a hair dryer and push it on and it'll be snug as a bug.</p> </p></p></p> Category: Hobby
