RamjetX Hall Effect e-Brake Mod
thingiverse
Hi Internet Sim Racing Drifter/z! I've been kindly reminded that I forgot to post this thing on from my Youtube channel.... So finally.... after being stupidly busy for years... here it is! My ebay hydraulic special to PC Hall Effect e-Brake Mod. https://youtu.be/SvqezQRffYU What's in the pack? - 1 x Back Cover - 1 x Arduino Pro Micro housing - 1 x 38mm Neoprene / rubber / foam cup holder for the plunger... ..... what will I need? Well... you'll need a Arduino Pro Micro.... yes the one with the 32U4 chip... Just say no to Nano! You'll also need an A3503 or sometimes known as a AH3503 ratiometric hall effect sensor! This thing is wired just like a potentiometer... See the code for the pins. It acts just like a potentiometer with a magnetic field... they're like super fun to play with.... And finally a simple micro switch button 5x5mm square... almost all of those arduino matrix button kits have tons of them! And optionally a WB2818 Addressable LED if you want the colours to change... I like this bit the most! To calibrate... push and hold the button till it turns white or about 10 seconds... the calibration is flashing blue for released, then it'll flash red (pull it back now)... and when it stops flashing... it's calibrated. Watch the youtube video. You'll see what I mean Lastly.... what does it fit? .... well.... only the one in the images in this project. Please be careful when your choosing a e-brake to fit this to, as it's intended to unscrew the hydraulic piston and replace it. Note this is (like everything else on Thingiverse and arduino...) a DIY project. All the code is provided. Including the joystick library.... just extract it into your documents/arduino folder. I've had two handbrakes with slightly different dimensions that I had to slightly open the screw mounting holes to make fit. So depending on what model and where you get it from you might have to mod the holes with a small file... Lastly.... and I'm really sad that I have to add this last comment... I ask that people don't just rip this off and blatantly sell it on ebay and other sites with a meshmix'ed de-brand of my models/work. Honestly... it's getting out of hand, its uncalled for and fooling nobody. I work a hard stressful job, have very limited time with a young family who need my attention. And of what very limited time I have left, I give almost all of it to helping others on the SimHub discord to build their own DIY sim racing projects, providing advice, tips and teaching electronics/coding. I give this stuff away for free because I want people to have it for free as a fun project to build and love teaching people electronics and coding. It's not a means for people to rip off and make money from my effort. I don't mind people providing a 3d printing service for those who don't have a printer and want to build the project. But what I do object to is people de-branding it and selling it as their own for profit. If you are doing this... the Tip button at the top of the page does actually work. Support the creators! Because eventually the only things that will end up on thingiverse will be people making STL's of 'Yoda's holding a penis' and IKEA hacks. RamjetX
