RamjetX 1up Arcade Stick Fix
thingiverse
Hi Internet Retro Gamers! I'm thrilled to share a ridiculously easy fix for a frustrating issue that's been driving me crazy! If you've unwrapped a 1up Arcade this holiday season or subscribed to ETAPrime on YouTube, you might be aware of the annoying problem with the original sticks. Finding those pesky diagonals can be a real challenge, leading to missed jumps and tricky Street Fighter 2 moves. As an enthusiastic but lazy and frugal gamer, I turned to ETA's advice: replace the sticks. However, my wife would probably describe me as cheap and lazy (she might be right!). Instead of ordering new sticks or even making a whole new one (which I still might do), I opted for a simple sleeve solution. I designed a 6mm ring that's about 1.2mm thick, which fits snugly over the internal actuator. This clever mod makes the actuator more substantial, allowing me to easily find the diagonals on my stick. To ensure they stay in place, I applied a tiny dab of super glue – although they fit pretty tightly already. Check out the pictures below to see the Red ring in action! With this effortless fix (you could even use electrical tape for a similar effect), my sticks are now perfectly acceptable. I can perform Hadoukens with ease and precision, restoring my Street Fighter 2 prowess! Cheers, RamjetX
