Raised Cable Strain Relief for SOVOL SV06 3d printer
thingiverse
This heat bed cable strain relief raises the cable up to a 30° angle coming out from the heat bed and minimizes/eliminates cable contact with the rear frame cover. The most common cause of heat bed cable failure is solder joints breaking from constant movement when the cable is not properly restricted in its movement near the solder joints. When using heat bed cable supports, it is important that cable movement is restricted near the solder joints, but it is also very important that the cable is not restricted in its movement by using zip ties directly on the cable. One advantage this mod has is that you don't have to use zip-ties directly on the cable which can lead to abnormal internal friction and possibly cause internal wire damage. Please post your makes. Please note: This is a two-piece print and doesn't require supports. The STL file includes two small hold-down supports for easy printing and will have to be removed before installation. When installing the two-piece clamp to the existing heat bed cover with the 3.6mm zip-tie, make sure to install it with the zip-tie head on top. There is a small recessed area in one of the sections which allows the zip-tie head to rest in a more normal position. Please refer to the included pictures for proper zip-tie orientation. Parts needed: 1) 2mm wide zip-tie or similar ( the extra zip-ties included with the SV06 work best ) 1) 3.6mm wide zip-tie or similar Printing Notes: This is a small print that benefits from a well-calibrated printer and prints best at a 0.12mm layers height resolution or higher and with a 100% infill.
