If your fingernails keep scratching the door plastic, this standoff will prevent any damage from occurring. It also makes it easier to grab the knob and open the door. I used M4-0.7 x 20mm screws and 4mm ID x 15mm OD flat washers to mount them securely. You can stack these standoffs if you prefer, but you'll need longer screws for that setup.
