Raise3D PLA Spool Filament Hub Adapter - Fits DHylands' Spool Holder
thingiverse
The Raise3D N1 printer comes with excellent spool holders that are unfortunately a bit short, causing the spools to sometimes slip off of them. Furthermore, they're unable to completely fill the spool hub (hole), resulting in drag on the filament during feeding. I redesigned this original design http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:735213 using the following critical variables: Tube Diameter - 30.5mm, Height - 68mm, and Spool Diameter - 55mm, which fits perfectly inside the Raise3D PLA and Raise3D Premium PLA spools, allowing them to turn smoothly on the roll holder. I printed this custom design in PLA at 215°C with a right nozzle (205°C if using the left) on a 65°C bed with BuildTak. The print speed was set to 40mm/s because the roll was dragging at 60mm/s and causing skips, which led me to create this hub! I printed it without support, on a raft, at 24% infill. If you want to print this design in PETG (I use eSun), it will also work well. I usually print PETG at 248°C with a bed temperature of 95-98°C and a print speed of 40-50mm/s. To achieve the best results, reduce the flow rate to about 94%, set retraction to 25mm/s for 1.0mm. I customized this design using the following options: tube_diameter = 30.5, height = 68, spool_diameter = 55. I also left other settings unchanged, including arm_compression = 1, inner_diameter_backlash = 1, arm_thickness = 2.4, arm_end_diameter = 5, chamfer_depth = 2, quality = 80, collar_thickness = 2, number_of_arms = 5, and wall = 3.
