Raise3D N2 Single Extruder Cooling Duct for 40mm fan
thingiverse
This is for use with standard 40mm fans only! After dealing with multiple failed large prints due to heat creep and now my second dead 35mm cooling fan, I came up with this duct for using 40mm fans to increase airflow over the heatsink. This mounts with three screws: one 16mm M3 that fits inside the shroud, one screw at your fan's depth plus 5mm, and then one 40mm (+/-5mm depending on fan size) screw. Problems this solves: * The 35mm 12v fans are hard to find but 40mm fans are plentiful and move more air. * The stock duct leaves a large gap between it and the cooler with about 10mm of open area that doesn't run across the heatsink. This part closes that gap and brings partial wings to direct airflow across three sides of the heatsink. Problems it creates: * You'll need to use a hard-to-find 45mm or 50mm screw to mount this. * It deletes the part cooling portion of the Raise3d duct. The single has a standalone cooler, so this was redundant. This means you'll lose part cooling if used with a dual extruder model or if you don't have the standalone part cooler that lives where the other extruder would be.
