Raise3D - N-Series - Front Mounted Blower Fan Duct
thingiverse
Front Mounted Blower Fan Mount. Designed to be installed with 2 M3 x 12 screws, sourced from Ace Hardware, directly onto the front of the extruder housing. The shaft length is precisely 9.5mm and must fit snugly into the extruder housing's hole, which I'm still unsure about. The holes for the blower fan are carefully sized to accommodate M3 thread inserts, available at http://shop.bondtech.se/ec/components/thread-insert-m3-10-pcs.html or http://shop.bondtech.se/ec/components/thread-insert-m3.html. These inserts provide a secure connection between the mount and the extruder housing. To ensure proper installation, it's essential to install the threaded inserts from the side facing the extruder before mounting the blower fan. I learned this the hard way after encountering severe issues with filament getting stuck on top of the duct. Now, I'm exploring an alternative design that eliminates the need for a duct altogether, using the blower to direct air directly at the part instead. However, this concept still requires prototyping before implementation.
