I envisioned this design as a hassle-free on-and-off experience, utilizing the existing three thumb screws and filament top guide without any intrusion into the print heads or fans. The Depth gauge will simply bolt onto one side or the other of the Y-Axis, allowing for adjustable height, with a 1/4-20 nut and bolt securing it in place. This design boasts simplicity, requiring only a single bolt to fit your gauge hole. In contrast, most existing Depth gauge brackets force users to disassemble their machines, removing fans or other components. My design eliminates this need by utilizing the three thumb screws on the front plate; not even filament removal is necessary. By keeping it simple and easy to install and remove, this design embodies a fundamental principle of good design: ease of use.
