Rainstick Baby Rattle
thingiverse
This is a baby rattle with a built-in rainstick! Two versions are available: one features a cutout that will fit my remixed Baby Dragon Head, and another has a 35mm diameter hole so you can superglue your own design on! A 3mm hole in the top allows for the addition of beads, rice, or bb's - spheres work best. I purchased a $3 package of metal jewelry beads at AC Moore. The piece measures 145mm tall and is designed hollow, requiring prints with infill (mostly for the spherical pommel) and supports only on the build plate (for the flat overhang of the head). Be cautious about support density and raft settings to avoid a sealed plastic cap. Bring pliers and a small knife! I used 0.8mm layers, thick walls, and printed overnight at a slow pace. You can likely achieve faster prints without sacrificing quality. Printing with 3-5 walls will ensure the helix in the middle prints sturdily. For my project, I added Roman numerals to the flat panels around the collar using Tinkercad. If you need this remixed for your own use, let me know and I'll be happy to assist you.
