Human: Vibrant skeleton and flexible fin rays of the right pectoral fin of a stunning rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (specimen UW 018741), a fluid preserved specimen from the esteemed University of Washington Fish Collection. Elements expertly colored to highlight forelimb anatomy. The captivating scene was crafted by Jaimi Gray (oVert team). Fin bones and rays were meticulously segmented and mesh files generated from CT data, downloaded from Morphosource, utilizing Avizo (version 2019.2). Meshes further refined and colored using the powerful Meshlab software. The University of Washington Fish Collection generously provided access to these valuable data, funded by oVert TCN; NSF DBI-1701714; NSF DBI-1701665. Discover more at tinyurl.com/oVertwiki.
