Rainbow Cube Replica (Twisty Puzzle)

Rainbow Cube Replica (Twisty Puzzle)

thingiverse

This is an exact replica of the original rainbow cube invented back in 2002. To get started, you'll need to print out eight corner pieces, eight cap pieces, twelve edge pieces, and two core pieces that can be split into separate parts for easier printing - or simply one regular core piece if you prefer. The corners are designed specifically for use with 2.5mm screws, but I've included a step file so you can easily modify the size of the screw holes to accommodate whatever type of screws you're using. I printed this rainbow cube out in PLA at a resolution of 0.2mm with supports in place. The result was quite smooth and required no sanding at all - just a bit of lubricant to get it moving smoothly. However, depending on your printer's support settings, you may need to do some light sanding to achieve the same level of smoothness.
