Rails for printer enclosure
thingiverse
I designed a 3D printed enclosure using the Print-Rite DIY 3D printer. The design features rails/corners for 2mm acetate/polycarbonate sheet panels. You may notice gaps, but these will be filled by an extractor unit located in the base, connected to the window via a flexible hose. This setup allows safe printing of ABS plastic in a home environment. Print settings were optimized as follows: * Printer: HobbyKing Print-Rite DIY 3D Printer * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: 100micron layers; 400micron extruder * Infill: Solid for added strength Key notes from the design process include using approximately 55m of filament, resulting in a 24-hour build time for the enclosure's components. This includes eight straight sections and four corner pieces, achieved at a build rate of 35mm/sec. The design was created using OpenSCAD.
