RAILROAD STATION HO SCALE
thingiverse
This HO scale (1/87th) Railroad Station is under construction. This is an easy build but will require many hours of printing. Depending on your printer, some components may require some minimum minor trimming. The Arc Braces 3 up need to be cut apart at the mid point. Don't forget to remove the threshold on each of the doors. There are two versions of the roof rafters, one regular and one with mitered ends. The platform/ceiling joists should be printed twice as they are identical. One version of the ceiling joists is open in the middle. There is a baggage/luggage room, two bathrooms, a ticket office and a sitting room. Commercially produced 4'x8' plywood flooring wasn't produced in this country until 1927. So the flooring boards are solid lumber and in a real construction site they would be installed on the flooring joists before the walls were built. I use index card stock to represent the flooring, saves many hours of printing time. I exclusively print with PLA and have found that ordinary clear lacquer thinner (Nail polish remover) is a wonderful glue. Make a small test for yourself of two pieces of scrap PLA and give it a try. Let sit for 20 seconds and then try to break it apart. It leaves no residue and is applied with a small brush. I've been using lacquer thinner as a glue on stryene and PLA for years. No sloppy or messy glue to show when finished. If you would like me to design a custom model for you contact me at: garylavart@yahoo.com. It is totally free but I will post it on Thingiverse for others to print and enjoy.
