Railcore II Spool Holder
thingiverse
This spool holder is a remake of a remake of a remake. It's specifically designed for the Railcore II printer. You'll need a short length of M6x100 threaded rod and four M6x100 nuts to complete it. First, use two nuts to secure the rod into the spool arm. Alternatively, you can thread in a set-screw if that's your preference. Next, attach two more nuts to each end-cap, making sure they're securely locked together so they don't spin loose. To achieve this, you'll need two identical end-caps. The picture I took of the finished end-caps shows them as solid pieces. Initially, I designed the end-caps with a solid shape, but once I printed them, I realized that I could optimize their design to use less material. The final version uploaded here features spoke-style end-caps instead. I've also created a smaller cap that can hold the spool in place without requiring you to unscrew it. To print this smaller cap, simply print one piece and then secure it with two nuts. This will keep everything firmly in place, allowing you to easily slide the spool off when needed.
