Railcore II Belt Holder for aluminum carriage for square nuts
thingiverse
I modified the belt holder assembly for the railcore to replace heat insert nuts with a slot for a square nut that slides in to create threads for tensioning the belts. The threads are now much closer to the screw, making it easier to tighten the belts since the screw engages earlier. There's also no risk of melted plastic clogging the threads. The design comes in two sizes: one for thin M3 square nuts and another for thick M3 square nuts. Thin nuts are DIN562 and measure 1.8mm thick. Thick nuts are DIN557 and measure 2.4mm thick, so be sure to print the correct file for your nut. Regardless of size, the design is intended to provide a snug fit. To install the square nut, use a screwdriver or similar tool to force it into place, then a small hex key to align the nut within the hole.
