Railcore II 300 ZLT Yoke Alignment Tool To Align Linear Rails, Lead Screws, & Steppers
thingiverse
The 300ZL has a version of the tool, but I couldn't find one that works with the ZLT. The ZLT requires a different tool because it has bearing carriers and bearings that support the lead screw. Once you mount the bearing carriers and motor, you can't remove the coupler or bearing carrier to access the motor shaft directly. This setup allows you to drop the tool through the bearing in the carrier and into the coupler. You can then use this method to align it with the yoke. This approach won't likely produce an exact size for everyone due to differences in printers and print precision. The best solution is to print one, measure it, and adjust your X and Y size in the slicer to get a close fit. I recommend printing the tool slightly larger and then using a drill with a large fingernail file to sand out any slight exterior imperfections. Alternatively, if you have a lathe, you can use that to create a custom-fit metal tool. Printing on a raft is recommended because the first few millimeters of the cylinder will be slightly larger than the rest without one. This setup allows you to follow a similar alignment method as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNWzMLc5-Cg&t=1022s Thanks to Tony for sharing this solution!
