Railcore II 300 ZL X-rail Height Adjuster
prusaprinters

NOTE: The STL scale is 10x normal so scale in your slicer to 10%. Sorry I can't fix this easily as I lost my f360 timeline, but super easy for you to compensate on your end.

For those of us who just can't quite get the Railcore perfectly square, this x-rail adjuster did the trick for me. This is based on the excellent XRAT tool by jslaker, but I was not able to get that version to fit properly with the 713maker halo. There are two versions, one for use with the 713maker halo that has a small recess in case your construction is like mine with the halo slightly inward of the extrusion, and one for use without the halo that has a smooth back. You can mirror the STL as appropriate. This uses the longer McMaster Carr part number 94180A333 Tapered Heat-Set Inserts for Plastic, Brass, M3 x 0.50 mm Thread Size, 6.400 mm Installed Length. These will work better than the shorter ones because the part relies on set screws pressed into the rails.

I made these for the Misumi rails, not sure if they will work on others, but probably will. I only needed these on the right side of the printer after centering the rails on the left. Adjustments only needed to be made to the right. I don't know if this is the way it would work for everyone, but these could be installed on either side of the rails, though the x-endstop may need to be redesigned in that case.

For printing, orient open side up, and leave the little parts that set in the rail tracks as they help grip and protect the rail at the same time. Be sure to remove the bolts and nuts except for the end that doesn't need height adjustment. I would recommend attaching the rail in the middle as well, if possible, as this will reduce the chance of the rail vibrating against the extrusion -- which can be very noisy.
Category: 3D Printer Parts
