rail cap light base

This cap is designed to work with a vinyl 4x4 wrap. I replaced the caps on my Freedom vinyl rail set using it, and found that it worked perfectly. The cap features a centered 1" hole for holding the plug from a solar path light that typically fits into the tube mount. The top of the cap is flat. I also created a second version with a pyramid-shaped top profile. To print this design, I recommend orienting it right-side up and using sparse supports along with an interface surface to minimize material usage and make support removal easier. A 25% or higher cubic infill setting will provide internal stability and support for the skin when exposed to sunlight. However, please note that depending on your location, this may not be sufficient to prevent distortion due to heat. I've personally tested it in temperatures reaching the high 90s with no issues, but I recommend testing before committing to multiple prints. To ensure durability, finish the cap with a suitable material for outside use and apply UV protection to the filament. Both designs were created using Tinkercad, an online CAD platform.
