Rail Brace / Impact Device / Finger Stop

Rail Brace / Impact Device / Finger Stop

thingiverse

Totally 3D printable rail accessory, mounting via two included screws which screw into the accessory and fit snugly into rail slots like most affordable vertical foregrips. The accessory is designed primarily for bracing the rail against an object, a wall or some cover, also serving somewhat as a finger stop, though this wasn't its main purpose. Your experience may vary regarding the part's strength; with HIPS, the screw nub tends to break off before the actual brace fails, which is exactly what's preferred - simply replace the screws. The front texture isn't meant to bite, having been intended for plastic production and being partially cut away in this version, mainly to provide a slight extension to the side of the rail, allowing you to pivot the barrel freely. Print two screws for each rail brace. Minor filing on the inside of the weaver rail mount may be beneficial for optimal fit, though it will naturally wear over time. Keep an eye out for more uploads utilizing this screw mounting system in various designs! Printer settings: - Brand: LulzBot Mini - Rafts: Doesn't matter; any type is acceptable. - Supports: Yes; add as needed. Print such that the screws' surfaces face downwards, ensuring thread clarity and reducing mess.
