Rail bending jig
thingiverse
This is a custom rail bending jig for model railway tracks, designed for use in 00/H0 and 009/H0e scale layouts. Built to precision, it creates smooth curves that can be easily adjusted to different radii with incremental tuning. The jig uses: 1x M8 threaded rod 8x M8 nuts 3x M8 bolts 3x skateboard bearings (8mm x7mm x22mm) To print the jig, I recommend using the top surface only, without supports or brim. SEE image! Light prying and cutting may be necessary to release the central sliding part; I used a scalpel to carefully cut it free on both short ends. UPDATE: I've included a file for a version with a 0.5mm gap between the slide and main body, as some printers may fuse the slide down. A picture of the recommended print orientation is also provided. UPDATE 2: A separate parts print has been added, consisting of three files: "bending jig part 1-3". The base is split in half, and parts may require sanding to fit together correctly, depending on your printer. I suggest gluing the base parts together upside down with a flat surface, ensuring the slide is free to move, then securing with four self-tapping screws through the holes. Drilling pilot holes with a 1 or 1.5mm drill bit after gluing would be beneficial.
