Raging Fire/Aurora Borealis Night Light (ESP8266/Arduino/d1 mini)

thingiverse

This is a brief video summarizing the construction of a compact Arduino-controlled night light built from RGB light strips, an ESP8266-based mini D1, a 3D-printed base/dome, and several supporting components. You can replicate my build/case, but I've included the Fusion360 file so you can modify the case to suit your specific needs - especially if you decide to create a larger night light with more than nine LEDs. The Arduino code files in the files section generate the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and Raging Fire displays shown in the video. Since the mini-D1 features Wi-Fi capability, you can write your own Arduino code that lets you change the night light colors, speed, etc., via a web browser or even with an app you design yourself. The possibilities are endless! A video overview of the build and the night light display is available at https://youtu.be/yVb4p0Oi_yc
