Rafts and Supports Flowers
thingiverse
The Rafts and Supports Flowers demonstrate when to choose rafts and supports from the Settings menu in MakerBot Desktop. The first flower is printed without supports, showing how print quality changes. The second flower is printed with supports and rafts, demonstrating what they look like. The third flower has its supports removed so users can see how supports impacted print quality. This model is part of the Print Kit found in MakerBot Education (http://www.makerbot.com/education). Each print serves as a visual aid to explain basic concepts, terminology, and settings associated with 3D printing. Visit http://www.makerbot.com/education to find educational resources like real-world MakerBot stories, videos, learning, challenges, and more. Download the .makerbot file, place it on your usb stick. The .makerbot file is for a MakerBot Replicator Desktop 5th Generation 3D Printer. If printing this file on other MakerBot Replicators is needed, download the .stl file and bring into MakerBot Desktop. Select the correct printer from the Device dropdown menu bar in File Menu. Print one file with Supports off in Settings, print the file again with Supports on, remove supports upon completion, and finally print the file with Supports still attached.
