Here are winglets designed specifically for the popular Radjet 800 from Hobbyking. The tip tanks usually break away after a few flights, making these winglets an ideal solution to improve both appearance and flight performance. Straight flying is enhanced, along with stall speed, allowing you to fly at slower speeds while maintaining a higher alpha angle. Additionally, they minimize ground effect, resulting in easier landings. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Pro X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 10% rectangular Notes: I've spent considerable time perfecting the print settings to ensure optimal results. It's crucial to use ABS material, as it prevents heat-related issues on sunny flying fields. Start by printing with a 10-line skirt, using a layer height of 0.2mm until the logo appears. Then switch to 0.1mm layer height, 10% rectangular infill, and three outlines. Set your print speed to 65mm/s until the logo begins, then reduce it to approximately 25mm/s before increasing it back to 65mm/s. Adjust cooling settings to slow down below 20 seconds to a minimum of 10mm/s and activate the fan after 10 seconds. These adjustments will help prevent ringing. Printing them one at a time may not yield desirable results due to overheating; I've found better outcomes by printing both winglets together, with their underside facing each other. Post-Printing If made from ABS, applying acetone can produce an impressive glossy finish. However, the 0.1mm resolution is already quite fine, and a touch of sandpaper may be sufficient for polishing. To attach them to the wing: Cut the wing according to the measurements provided in the pictures; they should be self-explanatory. I've added two holes per winglet for better stability using toothpicks. Consult the attached drawing to determine where to place the toothpicks on the wing. Secure everything with CA glue. I've tested these winglets up to 250km/h! Info: The logo on them represents pAirformance, my label for producing parts and models for R/C aircraft or complete R/C vehicles.
