Radiomaster TX16S Handle Mount Strengthening
thingiverse
Hey. Having recently had to change my back panel when I noticed the handle mounting points on my TX16S MK1 were cracking, the new MK2 panel I purchased looked exactly identical in these areas with no extra strengthening and so are likely to fail again in the future. So I looked to a way to add strength here and came up with this small spigot to glue on the inside handle screw recesses. You'll need two of these which you then epoxy into each opening on the inside of the back shell, I first roughed up the area with some emery/sand paper to ensure a key for the glue to stick to. I added a thin smear of glue in the area where the round portion is going to fit, so it bonds all-round to the back panel. However be careful not to add too much at this point, as you don't want it to ouze up around the M3 bolt as you insert the part. Speaking of M3 bolts, I used two with washers and nuts to hold these 3D parts in place while I then spread the epoxy glue all around the back section as seen in the photos and placed aside to cure. This mod spreads the forces of the carry handle across a bigger area of plastic and should help avoid it breaking so easily. For handle fixing aterwards you will then need some longer M3 X 20mm long screws to secure it and two M3 washers. Ian Contessa
