Redesign your container? Check it out here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1558097. To accommodate my Trinitite collection and a few tiny uranium ore samples, I needed a spacious, eye-catching container. My previous plastic jar was too small. So, I created a larger, UV-reactive ABS container with a big trefoil on top. It's also great for non-radioactive items! For printing this radioactive storage, use 100% infill for both parts. No supports were required for the trefoil. Nuclear Green Makerbot ABS was used (for obvious reasons), but PLA's extra density could help with shielding. Though 100% infill blocks alpha particles and many beta particles, it won't block gamma or X-rays. For lower plastic use, 15-20% infill is sufficient if you're not storing radioactive items. The UV lamp-lit Nuclear Green ABS top looks festive, but a black paint job on the trefoil is also an option.
