Radio Vent Holder
thingiverse
This is a radio holder I designed for use with HTs, belt clips and a car air vent. I use this in my Landrover Discovery D3 / LR3 to hold a radio (with speaker mic) in the air vent. I use this with my various battery eliminators as well. This idea came from a much simpler design I did last year, which wasn't great in various ways. This is the result of many improvements, I decided to share it on here. I use this to hold a Yaesu FT-4, Radiodity GA-5S, Quansheng UV-R50, QYT KT-8R, and various Baofengs. I tend to swap radios and coax often, so please ignore the adaptors in the picture ;). I am aware of the losses...etc. You need to print the holder itself, 1 slide clip and 2 stabilising clips to hold it still. Preferably with PETG due to the temperatures in a hot car. The clips were reverse engineered from a design I saw elsewhere. They may need to convincing to fit to the holder. The sliding one just fits through the large half of the mounting hole and slide in to secure. The stabilisers just need to be pushed on to each side. To remove the clips from the vent, you can twist lightly and pull to remove from the vent. You merely need to widen to the clips slightly I provided two sliding mounts for the slide clip to give an option to mount higher.
