Radio Tower

I connected a few of the segments to form a tower and then tapered it in Blender to get the aesthetic my buddy wanted. I tried one scaled to 1:32 from the 1:24 the original model said, but it failed near the top since the taper modifier also shrinks and thins it out. So I printed with +0.5mm horizontal expansion at the original 1:24 scale, and it worked perfectly for what I needed.

I also designed a Yagi-Uda antenna to go with it. I twisted an exacto in the top hole until the antenna peg fit perfectly since it nearly closed after horizontal expansion. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4581682

Print Settings

Printer:

Artillery Sidewinder X1

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

15% Cubic

Filament:
Sculpto PLA
Green

Notes:

+0.5mm horizontal expansion to make the truss thicc (especially near the top where the taper thinned it out)

Category: Toys & Games
