This 3D Model of a VOR/DME radio beacon is designed in Blender 3D software. In modern radio navigation systems, a VOR/DME plays a crucial role by integrating a VHF omnidirectional range (VOR) with distance measuring equipment (DME). The integrated VOR enables the receiver to instantly calculate its direction to or from the broadcasting station, whereas the DME provides accurate slant-range distance readings between the receiver and the transmitting site. By combining these two crucial pieces of information, a VOR/DME setup empowers receivers to derive precise position fixes through intricate mathematical computations.
