The New Version of the Radin Loader: A Total Remake Based on Blaise's Original Design and Influenced by Open Powder. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to guiguijke and Blaise_fr for sharing their project with me. It's always easier to improve upon something that already exists rather than starting from scratch. The many components of this unit are fully compatible with other projects. This device is specifically designed for accurately dosing powder during reloading, resulting in optimal performance. What's new in RadinLoader 2? Here are the key features: - The software has been completely redesigned to include: • Units for grams and grains • A menu system for configuring all parameters • Saving calibration values • Support for three languages: English, German, and French - Other notable improvements include: • A scale and tickler unit separated by a rubber feed to dampen vibrations • A 5V BEC System for powering Arduino and Scale devices To build this device, you will need the following parts: • 2x Ball Bearings (608ZZ) • 1x Arduino Uno • 1x Loadcell (100g) • 1x HX711 Module • 1x LCD Display (1602) with I2C Interface • 1x 5-Button AD Key Pad • 1x Buzzer (active high) • 1x BEC 5V Module • 1x DRV8825 • 1x NEMA17 Stepper Motor • 1x Capacitor (100uF, minimum 12V) • 1x Diode (1A) • 1x DC Power Plug (5.2x2.1mm) • 1x Power Supply (minimum 12V, 1A) with a 5.2x2.1mm plug • 12x Housing Screws (use any screws with a diameter of 2-2.5mm and suitable length) • 10x M3x8 Screws (you may need to use other sizes as well) • 2x M3x16 Screws • 2x M3x20 Screws • 8x FAN Anti-Vibration Mounting Pins • 1x Calibration Weight (10g, or any weight you know the exact value of) • A few wires • The 3D Print Parts (for Scale and Tickler, use ESD-safe materials) The tools needed for this project include: • Soldering station • 3D Printer • Hot glue gun Optional: You can replace the shaft with a metal version if you prefer. Important Note: Please make sure to wire everything before loading the software. If not, you may encounter problems during switch calibration (EEPROM stored data). If this happens, erase the EEPROM using the EEprom-delete sketch. First Start: 1. Check and adjust the contrast level on your LCD display by turning the potentiometer located at the backside. 2. Calibrate the switches and scale as guided by the LCD. 3. Perform a dosing process after calibrating the scale, but wait for 2 minutes to allow it to warm up first. Adjusting the DRV8825 motor is also important: turn it clockwise until it reaches its end, then start a dosing process and turn counterclockwise until the motor runs smoothly. This ensures that there's just enough magnetization for smooth operation without putting too much strain on the motor. The Diagram provided shows how to navigate the menu system and perform a dosing process.
