Radial Impeller
myminifactory
Making custom radial impellers for turbines in any size by printing them in sections, we can easily glue the sections together onto a flat plate. In the photos above, you'll see how I used a CD as the base for my impeller and also welded the gaps between the small segments with a soldering torch. With a Dremel, I rotated it up to 20000RPM without any issues. To balance it, simply use hot glue. However, be extremely cautious when running it: make sure you're wearing protective glass! The parametric 3D model is available online at https://goo.gl/QBuZ6H - just slice it without the tops or bottoms. I'd love to see what you discover about housing design and finding the best aerodynamic parameters. You can even create dust cleaners and windmills for collecting energy, which sounds like a lot of fun! Please share your solutions on https://plus.google.com/communities/115060645883075619948
