Radial Generator II
myminifactory
This project is still a work in progress. A small radial generator has been designed specifically for my wind turbine. This version features three phases with serpentine winding. I utilized 10x10x40mm magnets arranged in a Halbach array configuration. Initial measurements (post-rectifier) at 400rpm with an 8-winding (0.8mm wire) load on one phase: 5V, with only 8 windings and my wind turbine not rotating at 400 rpm. More tests are needed to complete the project. Update: 15/09/2016: Updated Parts: "Stator_1x.stl" and "Deckel_1x.stl", designed for easier printing but fully compatible with the original version. Required Materials: * 32 x Magnets, 10x10x40mm (Q-40-10-10-N available at Supermagnete.de or Supermagnete.ch) * 1 x M8 screw or threaded rod * 3 x M8 Nuts * 2 x 608 bearing (Ø22xØ8x7mm, such as inline skates bearings) * 4-8 x M5 screws and nuts * 8 x M3x8mm screws / 3 x 8mm self-tapping screws * 1.3 meters of wire per winding (I use Ø0.8mm, 20 AWG from a microwave transformer) Print Settings: * PETG Filament * 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.20 Layer, 50mm/s Speed, no infill, no support * I use CURA 15.04.06 Assembly Instructions: See Pictures for assembly details. Glue in M5 Nuts. Ensure mounting screws are not too long. You can cut M3 threads or use self-tapping screws for "Abdeckung Magnete 1x.stl". If you have suggestions, questions, or need further information, feel free to contact me. I'd be happy to assist in any language.
