Radial filament guide for cabinet mount
thingiverse
This is a filament guide created to make it easier for the filament to flow and avoid excessive bending.\r\n\r\nI've installed the 3D printer in a cabinet and feed the filament from above and through the side, just like shown below the guide. Beforehand, I was using a PTFE bowden tube as a guide, but since the spool is on top of the cabinet, I needed a support system to prevent pulling straight down.\r\n\r\nIt turned out that this simple guide without the PTFE tube reduces friction by more than half, because a small increase in tension causes the spool to unroll immediately and avoid touching the guide most of the time.\r\n\r\nThere are two parts: the guide itself and a small clip that snaps on top to prevent loose filament from exiting the guide. The clip is open, so the filament can be inserted from the side. I used weak double-sided tape to attach the structure to the side of the cabinet.\r\n\r\nI use this spool holder https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2791247/ sitting on top of the cabinet, combined with these hooks https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2923602 for the display panel.
