As I recently purchased an FDM printer, I wanted to print my radial engine design that I created 12 years ago. Consequently, I revamped it and look forward to your feedback. I fabricated all the parts with support structures in place except for the cylinder assembly, which I built without supports but added a brim for stability. To provide sufficient strength to the crankshaft and winch, I printed them with 100% infill; however, they broke during testing due to excessive brittleness. Please examine the photos to see the step-by-step assembly process. Before gluing any components together, ensure that everything operates smoothly. Depending on your printer's capabilities, you may need to grind the interior of the cylinder parts and the edges of the pistons for optimal performance. The pre-drilled holes have a diameter of 2mm. Additionally, you might need to shorten the pushrod covers slightly during assembly. For bonding components together, I utilized CA glue; be cautious not to apply excessive amounts. If assembled correctly, you will have an impressive model engine that everyone desires to crank. Let me know if you've successfully built one.
