Radial engine dummy RC plane
thingiverse
This is a dummy radial engine I designed specifically for the RC-model "Trush Light", an innovative airplane crafted by Kristian Berggren for the Swedish magazine Allt om Hobby back in 2001. The dummy is precision-made to fit snugly into the nose of this particular model, but it can be easily adapted to any other aircraft with a flat nose area measuring roughly W40xH60mm in size. A precisely engineered hole within the engine accommodates a cheap yet efficient 2212 1000Kv brushless outrunner motor, boasting a diameter of 32 mm and a depth of 24 mm. I opted for printing mine in Colorfabb silver PLA with an ultra-fine layer height of 0.2 mm and a robust infill density of 10%. As the picture clearly demonstrates, I've only printed the 5-cylinder version showcased, but those seeking a lighter alternative can print the 3 or 1-cylinder versions instead. For those who don't prioritize weight constraints, there's also an option to print the 7-cylinder version.
