I'm aware of all those claw machines rigged to cheat. I decided to design a robot with something similar on the front that actually works reliably. Every part was created by me from scratch, and I'm quite proud of what's coming together so far. I'll post images of my progress and the finished product later. I uploaded the Inventor IPT files to keep this project as open source as possible! The Cage File contains three components in one, making it easy to import just one of the Cage.stl files for a full cage. These parts are also designed to be expandable. For example, you can print two Cages and have six gears - although you'll need to modify the worm Cog.ipt to match the new setup. I plan to make the worm gear compatible with customizer once I'm satisfied with the base design. The idea is to attach this motor (http://amzn.to/1fbViKV) to the worm gear and center it between the three gears using a motor mount. Worm Gear (exT) is the latest version, and it seems like it would work best. However, I haven't tested it yet because I need to modify the worm gear to fit the gear motor's shaft. Please refer to the Assembly file for instructions on how to put everything together!
