Radial Claw V1

Radial Claw V1

I'm excited about my new robot project, which features a reliable claw mechanism inspired by those rigged claw machines you often see. Every part of it was designed from scratch by me, and I'm really proud of how it's coming along. You'll be able to see the progress so far in images I'll post later, including the finished product. To keep this project as open source as possible, I've uploaded the Inventor IPT files for your use. The Cage File contains three parts in one, making it easy to import just one of the Cage.stl files to have a complete cage. These cages are also designed to be expandable - for instance, you can print two cages and end up with six gears. However, keep in mind that you'll need to modify the Worm Cog.ipt to match your new setup. I plan to make the worm gear compatible with customizer once I'm satisfied with the base design. My idea is to attach this motor (http://amzn.to/1fbViKV) to the worm gear and center it between the three gears using the motor mount. The Worm Gear (exT) seems like a good option, but I haven't tested it yet due to needing to modify the worm gear to fit the gear motor's shaft. To assemble everything, please refer to the Assembly file for instructions. Print Settings: * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: Doesn't Matter Instructions: 1. Print 1x Cage.stl 2. Print 3x Cog.stl 3. Print 1x Motor Mount.stl 4. Print 1x Worm Gear(exT).stl (print this so the threads of the gear are tangent to the build plate for best results) 5. Print 1x Knuckles.stl 6. Print 3x Fingers.stl 7. Print 6x Rail.stl
