Do you need to take a more medieval approach in your social distancing enforcement? Do your children need a physics lesson? Or maybe you just want to burn some time with a little target practice. Whatever your need, the Radapult has you covered! It's the rad catapult you never new you wanted!!
Print instructionsNotes
Everything should print off in the included gcode. I have included gcode for a flex filament cross-member stop. This in theory, should cushion the throwing arm impact and give the Radapult a little more longevity. I have also included a standalone file for the axle since I was having less than perfect result from the main file.
As seen in the images, I was able to do a stress simulation on the Radipult with promising results. I simulate a 25 ft/lbs (111 N) strike on the top cross-member with an equal and opposite force on the axle. This is far from perfect but I think it gives a good ballpark as to the kind of abuse this can handle. I didn't want the Radipult to break itself after a couple sessions.
This model requires glue! Sorry, if I get more time I will try to make this a glue free experience (way harder than I thought!). For now, the glue stays :(
I am still trying to figure out the best way to incorporate the rubber band. I am open to suggestions :)
Assembly Instructions
Once everything is printed off, the main body can be folded and the axle inserted through both the frame and throwing arm.
Using CA glue, fit in place and glue the top cross-member.
Using CA glue place the entire assembly on to the two base pieces.
The basket is attached to the throwing arm using CA glue.
Thread a rubber band through the throwing arm and hook it to the provided hooks at the front of the frame. (I may tweak this in the future)
