Rad Mini Step Through Tie Down Helpers for Rola Cargo Basket Carrier - Tire Chocks & Bike Separators
thingiverse
The bikes neatly fit inside a Rola 600lb capacity trailer cargo hitch rack when folded. However, an unfolded bike is slightly longer, so its front wheel wedges into the upper basket rail as it sits on top of the rail. But it fits snugly without straps just perched on the kickstand. This collection of print files helps position non-folded bikes in the carrier basket for quicker and easier loading and unloading duties. A wheel retainer block or chock to sit under the suspended front wheel, primarily to ensure the wheel doesn't turn over. Another small wedge-shaped wheel chock for the rear wheel helps set it at optimal placement against the sidebar bend, ready for strap-down (the rear chock is quite unnecessary). An adjustable separator bar keeps the bikes spaced when strapped down to the rack. Just two ratchet straps eliminate all travel movements and two additional straps give peace of mind. My prints were created with a .5 nozzle and .3 or .32 layers using PETG. Bed positioning: The cradle file was positioned front end up, while the rear chock file printed bottom end up. The separator bar was placed down horizontal on the flat spot with some supports along the curves off the bed and for the angled ends. I didn't use supports for the top of the inside threads (frame brace side). Basically, it was supported from the bed only. I made the frame cradle diameter large enough to fit the zip ties I have in that area, although the bare tube file with "BareFrame" in the name should fit those without zip-ties in the way.
