Rackmount CenturyLink C3000Z Modem Enclosure

<p>This design completely replaces the stock enclosure on your CenturyLink C3000Z modem, and allows it to be rack mountable. It is expected to be used in a scenario where you have your own firewall, switch, and access points, and just need the modem to run in transparent bridging mode. Basically, you want it to just be a DSL modem, and nothing else. Note that transplanting the modem to this enclosure will require desoldering the 2.4 GHz antennas, and disconnecting the 5 GHz antennas (which oddly are not soldered). This process is likely reversible.</p> <p>I've only printed this one, and found the tolerance between the top and bottom of the case to be extremely tight. I made some adjustments, but did not re-print the model. If you print it, please leave a review letting me know how the tolerances are.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>Transplanting the modem from the stock case to the rack mount enclosure will involve taking the modem enclosure apart, disconnecting the mc-card connectors that are used for the 5 GHz Wi-Fi antennas, desoldering the coax cables for the 2.4 GHz antennas, and removing the circuit board. If you want to put it back in the enclosure someday, I think you could resolder the 2.4 GHz antenna connections. Note that removing the antennas means that this will no longer function as a wireless router. I would also recommend either putting the router in transparent bridge mode, or at least disabling the Wi-Fi radios completely before disconnecting the antennas.</p> <p>You will need:</p> <ul> <li>x8 M3x10mm screws (longer would probably be fine)</li> <li>x8 M3 nuts</li> <li>x4 M3x10 to 25mm screws</li> <li>Rack mount screws and cage nuts</li> </ul>
