Rack side mount for Cycliq Fly6 camera

The Fly6 Rear Safety Camera is an excellent option for rear visibility, but its limited mounting options are a significant drawback. The only available mount is a seat post mount, which renders it useless for commuters who use rack trunk bags or garment bags with extensive extensions. These types of bags offer ample storage space and are highly convenient for daily commutes. However, the rubber bands used to secure the Fly6 camera on its mount begin to degrade after just a few months, causing concerns about the reliability of this $150 device. To alleviate this issue, users can remove the support struts printed within the camera mount using side cutters and carefully trim them with a knife. The amount of trimming required may vary depending on the printer's tolerances. The design of the mount is intended to be extremely rigid, but this can also be achieved by mirroring it in SCAD for right-side mounting. It is crucial to print the Fly6 Rear Safety Camera mount at a temperature that ensures excellent layer bonding to prevent the ridge holding the camera in place from snapping off due to weak bonding. Fortunately, my experience with the Fly6 has been positive so far, even after a week of use on rough terrain and high-speed riding over railroad crossings. To further enhance safety, I will be sharing a design for a safety lanyard attachment bit in the near future.
