Rack Rail
thingiverse
This is a versatile rack rail system for 19" rackmount devices. I designed it with compatibility in mind, utilizing 10-32 rack screws and 10-32 hex nuts. The rail features slots on the back for nut insertion, but they fit snugly (I had to use the screws to draw them into place). No adhesive is required to secure them. To attach the rails to a cabinet, #8 pan head wood screws are used. Alternatively, #10 screws could be employed with equal effectiveness. STL files have been provided for 1u, 2u, and 4u rail configurations. If an additional length is desired, users can modify the SCAD file by setting the variable RU on the initial line of code to the number of rack units required. Afterward, the model can be rendered (note: longer rails may necessitate a longer processing time), and the STL exported. Four variables located below RU define the dimensions for mounting hardware holes. Users are advised to verify their hardware measurements against these settings and make adjustments as necessary. My printed samples were created with 10% infill using Duramic 3D Premium PLA Plus, resulting in sturdy rails that appear to be robust.
