Rack Gear Sliders Mechanism
grabcad
A differential movement mechanism employs an eccentric shaft that moves a rod, which then actuates a first slider via a crank-piston setup. Additionally, the rod is linked to a gear engaging a rack on the second slider. The gear transmits both linear displacement from the first slider and rotational motion, with their directions varying at times. This model was created using Solidworks 2015 and rendered in Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition. Video frames were edited in Virtualdub before being saved as AVI/X264 and BMP formats. MyMP4BoxGui was used to remux the video into MP4 format, while GifApp generated animated GIFs. Post-rendering adjustments were made with IrfanView. The 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files all contain animations. These files can be viewed on mobile devices with the free Simlab Viewer app installed.
