The mechanism accurately mimics the performance of a traditional rack and pinion system. The slight under-size of the base plate's hole allows for minimal sanding to achieve a smoother fit with the rackshaft. Our model draws heavily from dreyfusduke's insightful gearset design, which provided the foundation for this project.
