Here is a rack-and-pinion gear mechanism demonstrator. The 20 pinion gear teeth feature an involute profile, while the 15 rack teeth have a flat trapezoidal profile. Both gears boast a module of 2mm. This design expands on my earlier gear demonstrator found here which focused on the involute tooth profile. The holes in the base are designed to accommodate a #8 screw for secure mounting.
