RABIES DOG TAG HOLDER

RABIES DOG TAG HOLDER

This is a work in progress of course. The goal is to encase the 'rabies' tags that we need to have on our dog collars. Once this is working, I'd use the same enclosure to print/engrave the dog's name/addr/phone on the back-plate. Thus combining two tags into one. And no more "clanging" noises. Dimensions of the OVAL Rabies tag is an oval 35mm by 28mm; So I made the bottom layer 37x30 to give a tad bit of wiggle room; the top layer is smaller by 1mm, to prevent it from coming out, but it takes some force to get it in, since it requires the material to expand (a better design might build in some gaps to allow it to be more playable). NOTE: this is the first draft.... currently it works, but my first print used a thick layer height, and the 3d model is not well contoured, and so the point where the two shapes join is weak (only overlapping by one half millimeter... so that point is weak and has easily broken when pushing in the tag. Next steps are to make that more contoured; and reduce the height of it so it is more seamless with the size of the tag. Currently it's pretty thick and doesn't fit well into the typical collar hooks. After that, then working on making the back plate thicker and be able to emboss name/addr. --- This object was made in Tinkercad.
