Rabbit - Sun Catcher
cults3d
I wanted to explore the possibility of printing a sun catcher without relying on intricate mechanisms. So here's my attempt with Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh. The frame functions like the leading in a stained glass window, requiring transparent filament for its creation. A crucial layer change to black must occur where the lead lines would typically be. Once completed, colored pieces are then carefully glued into their designated "gaps" within the frame. I utilized PVA glue and allowed it to set over several days. For this project, I employed PLA filament in most instances, but occasionally had to use PET due to an inability to find a suitable translucent/transparent PLA with the desired color. This substitution mostly worked effectively, however, some pieces required light sanding to ensure a precise fit.
