The remains of the Grave 411 are buried within the Neolithic cemetery of Ra's al-Hamra 5 in Oman. In 2008, Italian archaeologists excavated the site in collaboration with Omani authorities from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage. A middle-aged man was discovered inside, tightly compacted and likely restrained by ropes, wrapped in a perishable bag that has since mineralized into white concretions. Several marine turtle heads (Chelonia mydas) were also placed beside him, along with other animal remains found within the tomb. The deceased wore ornate adornments: mother-of-pearl pendants on his neck, shell and stone beads on one arm, a second shell bracelet, and a Cyprea sp. shell pendant around his neck. Shark teeth associated with tubular shells (Dentalium sp.) were discovered near his skull, possibly signifying a headband. The grave was sealed beneath large stones and covered mats, marked by a pebble placed nearby to signify the location.
