Please watch this video for more information: https://youtu.be/6xqL0pJc5YB The survey for my next project has been closed and I've already started working on the details. A new video will be posted soon, revealing the winner and outlining my plans to bring it to life. This is the non-electronic version of the R2-D2 robot I designed here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1205821 I removed all electronic component-specific parts from the original design and replaced them with cylindrical connectors instead of screws. You can find these in the "extras" file on Thingiverse. The tallest connectors connect the body to the arms and legs, while the mid-sized ones link the butt plate to the middle leg. The smaller ones attach the body to the butt plate. These connectors are designed to be snug but still printable at 0.3mm layer height. The head will slide onto its base and turn into a groove that keeps it in place, allowing for smooth rotation without falling off easily. I haven't printed this model myself, so if you encounter any issues during printing, let me know and I'll do my best to resolve them. All necessary supports are already included in the design, making it ready to print at 0.3mm layer height. This model can be scaled down a bit, but keep in mind that the pegs may make it difficult to achieve perfect scalability.
